Having identified a gap in the labour market for skilled and formally qualified riggers, the directors of Rigger Training Academy (RTA), backed by over 35 years of experience in the rigging world, embarked on a mission to provide the South African market with qualified and capable riggers.

RTA's training programmes focus primarily on rigging related and accredited publications, ranging from Skills Programmes to apprenticeships and learnerships.

All courses are delivered by industry experienced QCTO,MERSETA,TETA, NAMB Registered facilitators and assessors.

RTA is committed to providing learners with training programmes that empower and advance career development goals in line with business development objectives of the employer.

RTA was founded initially as an entity within the Lovemore Bros group.

The original idea being that RTA would provide quality training and specific skills to young candidates, who could then move on to providing their services to Lovemore Bros, the machine moving company.

This initiative proved extremely successful as a business model that delivered real value to all parties. The general quality of staff members in Lovemore Bros was escalated and lower incidents and accidents were a direct result of the high standard of training.

Expenses incurred by Lovemore Bros were considered well spent, considering the saving in losses from potential losses typically associated with general ignorance or poor attitude.

An unexpected positive outcome of the training that became obvious, was the high personal motivation and self discipline of the candidates. By training small groups, we were able to instill good character traits and behaviour, that makes these candidates more attractive to most employers.

In 2017 RTA was established as a Private Company with its own management and accounts. The company moved into its own premises at 22 Nipper Road, New Germany, where they build offices, classrooms, training hall and bespoke climbing structure.

RTA then offered its training services to the general public and related industry companies.

RTA is QCTO aligned and Merseta accredited.

Upliftment of young people, specifically those out of school and struggling to get any experience, is a particular focus of the RTA owners.

RTA provides an opportunity for candidates from this group to develop and mature in a safe environment, thereafter allowing these same youngsters an opportunity to showcase their ability whilst potentially securing long term employment and life stability.
